In an interview with USA Today, [Clinton] cited an Associated Press report that, she said, “found how Sen. Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.

Ughh, is that something to be proud of?  That lower class white people support you solely because they won’t vote for a black man?

Bonus: the implication that black people are not hard-working.

I’m freaking bored at a bar while my fiancée’s friends dance to lame 80’s music. This scenario should be an iphone ad itself - thank god Jim owns one.
I’m shocked that Hillary and McZombie are both priding themselves on getting the votes of the uneducated. Yes, we all deserve a vote, but it’s clear that uneducated voters will vote based on things that don’t matter, and even listen to downright lies.

My entire (unAmerican) issue with the American political system - it counts every vote as 1.

Trapped in Time

sigh, politics.

I read it last year and this damn thing still stays with me when I close my eyes sometimes.  One of the single best books I’ve ever read.

bruma: Does somebody know this book?. Our teacher in Script class highly recommended it to us, he brought it up when we were talking about “No Country for Old Men”, apparently it’s from the same author.Has very good reviews at Amazon, let’s see if they have it on spanish in the book store. I’m intrigued. RUN, DON’T WALK TO READ THIS BOOK. I AM SERIOUS. /caps The Road is amazing. Cormac McCarthy writes a haunting spec fiction tale of family and survival in a post-apocalyptic American landscape. An instant classic and hands down one of the best novels of the early 21st century. Not hyperbole, I promise.

Sometimes I wish violence was the answer.

There’s no doubt that abstinence-only educators do harm. But some do more harm than others. Unlike the Leslee Unruhs of the world - who wear their crazy on their sleeve - abstinence “educator” Pam Stenzel is an engaging, convincing, fun speaker. A speaker who tells kids that birth control could kill them and that abortion makes girls anorexic, depressed and suicidal. And she does it with aplomb. (via Feministing)
