Hi, I'm Andy and I like to blog about all sorts of neat things: sports, politics, beer, my boring life, and everything in between. I'm 25 and am a graduate student studying to be an English teacher at the College at Brockport, State University of New York. I'm getting married next year to the most amazing girl, and we blog about that together. You can email me: andrew (at) andrewrfox (dot) com
i don’t capitalize because there’s no reason to. grammar, schmrammar. i was an english major for two years which means i have creative license. i remember reading that e.e. cummings & emily dickinson both used capitalization not as a grammatical custom, but as a means of emphasizing certain words & ideas. that makes sense to me.

In my first English class as an English Lit major (which I actually have a BS in, by the way), the professor, Roger (who hated being called doctor), responded to a question on Jose Saramago’s questionable writing style by stating that, and I am paraphrasing because it was three years or so ago, “Once you learn the rules and master them, you’ve earned the right to break them because you know why you’re doing it.”

I know most, if not all (I don’t think any laureates have blogs, do they?) bloggers aren’t in that category.  Use propper grammar.

my socks don’t fit — lowercase vs. Uppercase.
